Research started @ Adelphi where we visited 2 shops that recommended us brands such as mCube & Morell respectively. The sound effects from these 2 brands were good, as we sat through demos of movies (particularly, the chinese movie "Hero" starring Jet Li was used quite often in all demos) and music. As we were quite new to the subject, we decided to make a trip to Sim Lim Square to check out other brands as well. From there, we were exposed to yet more brands!! Such as Jamo and Mordaunt.
The one with the wow factor was Mordaunt. As we listened to how it sounded, we were really won over and the price was quite reasonable vis-a-vis the other brands too. Having shortlisted this brand, it was now off to check the prices around. Homework was done back @ Adelphi another week later. And we were convinced that the offer by shop in Sim Lim Square was reasonable.
On Apr 22, we decided to go back to the shop for another demo of the Mordaunt system. The salesman was very patient and went through our requests for demos of different media. After much discussion, we bought the system from him, together with Marantz Amplifier and DVD player!
